General Questions

  1. What are the basic requirements for becoming an Elite Travel Nurse?

    In most instances, one year of recent hospital based experience in your specialty is required. Verifiable solid references and a valid professional license are also required.

  2. What is the typical duration of travel nursing assignments?

    The duration of assignments is typically 13 weeks. Longer assignments may be available at certain facilities.

  3. Where are the assignments located?

    Assignments are available throughout the US. Tell us where you want to travel and we will find an assignment that suits you.


  4. Do I have to sign a contract?

    You will need to sign and return an Employment Agreement for each assignment you accept.

  5. How many hours per week will I work on an assignment?

    Elite assignments are generally a minimum of 36 hours per week.


  6. If a friend and I want to travel together, is it possible to obtain assignments at the same facility or in the same city?

    This is certainly possible and Elite will make every effort to make this happen.

  7. Can I bring family members, friends and pets with me on assignments?

    Yes! Elite recognizes the importance of family, friends and your pets. If your pet travels with you, you may need to opt for your own private apartment, for which you would pay a reasonable charge dictated by housing costs in the specific area of the assignment. Some apartment complexes also require a pet deposit for which you will be responsible.

Compensation and Benefits

  1. What can I expect my pay rate to be?

    Pay rates will vary and are determined not only by Service Agreements in place with facilities but also assigned specialties.

  2. How often do I get paid?

    You will receive a paycheck each week. Direct Deposit of your pay is available.

  3. Are bonuses paid at any assignments?

    Your package can be customized to include a bonus which may effect your base rate.

  4. What type of insurance benefits will be available to me?

    The option of group health insurance benefits will be available should you decide to become a full-time Elite travel Nurse.

  5. Can I add my spouse or dependents to the Elite group health insurance plan?

    Yes. You simply complete the enrollment forms and pay the applicable monthly premium.

  6. If I refer a friend to Elite, is there a referral bonus available?

    Yes! Ask your Elite Recruiter for the details of our bonus plan.

  7. Do you offer reimbursement of licensing fees?

    In most instances, yes. We will also offer to assist you financially with CEUs and other certifications.

Housing

  1. What type of housing accommodations can I expect?

    Typically, housing will consist of a one bedroom furnished apartment. If larger accommodations are needed, there may be some additional cost to you.

  2. Should I choose to stay with family or friends while on an assignment, will a monthly housing stipend be available to me?

    Yes! If you choose to rent your own apartment or stay with family or friends, Elite will provide you with a monthly housing subsidy. The amount could vary based on geographic location.

Travel

  1. Will I be reimbursed for my travel to and from the assignment?

    In most instances, Elite pays a travel allowance. Allowances vary depending upon the location of the assignment.
